Privacy Statement

Project Management Institute Southern Ontario Chapter's (PMI Toronto) policy is to respect and protect the privacy of our users. This policy statement tells you how we collect information from you and how we use it. PMI Toronto follows four core principles of privacy protection in the operation of its Web site:

1. NOTICE/AWARENESS

This policy statement sets forth PMI Toronto information practices concerning the type of data that is collected at PMI Toronto's Web site. This policy is being placed at a link on the bottom of PMI Toronto's home page, a practice that is becoming an industry standard location for Web site privacy policies.

2. CHOICE/CONSENT

The following paragraphs describe the type of information PMI Toronto collects and the reasons why PMI Toronto collects the information. By providing the information requested by PMI Toronto's online forms and by continuing to use PMI Toronto's Web site after having an opportunity to review PMI Toronto's privacy policy, you have consented to PMI Toronto's use of the information it collects as described at the point of collection or in this policy.

User Supplied Information

You may be asked to supply contact information in order to receive information or material that you request from the PMI Toronto Web site or to register for an event on the PMI Toronto Web site. PMI Toronto Web site collects IP addresses for the purposes of system administration, to generate aggregate information, and to audit the use of our site. When you request pages from Toronto.pmi.on.ca, our servers log your IP address. We do not normally link IP addresses to anything personally identifiable, which means that your session will be logged, but you remain anonymous to us. We can and will use IP addresses to identify a user when we feel it is necessary to enforce compliance with our terms of use of the Web site or to protect our service, site, customers or others.

Use of Cookies

PMI Toronto does not use cookies that contain any personally identifiable information.

3. INTEGRITY/SECURITY OF THE DATA COLLECTED

To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the correct use of information, PMI Toronto has put in place appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.

4. ENFORCEMENT/REDRESS

If for some reason you believe that PMI Toronto has not adhered to its privacy policy, please notify us by either of the methods set forth above. PMI Toronto will do its best to respond to your concerns and, when appropriate, take steps to correct a problem.

EMAIL COMMUNICATION

PMI Toronto uses our email newsletter to keep in touch with both our existing members, as well as individuals who have attended PMI Toronto activities or events. Our newsletter uses a double opt-in method to subscribe from the PMI Toronto and when completing forms to participate in events

If at any time you decide you do not want to receive PMI Toronto email newsletter, simply click the link at the bottom of the email newsletter to unsubscribe. We will remove your email address from our newsletter list, and will do the same with your name, title, business address and business phone number upon request.

PMI Toronto does NOT sell or provide email addresses or any other information to third parties without permission.

USE OF IMAGES

Chapter event participants understand and consent that photographs or video of them participating in Chapter events may be taken and included in Chapter communication and promotional material.

The names of individuals shown in images or video will not usually be included in the communication or material unless the individual is a Chapter Staff or Volunteer. Members or Non- members may request that images be removed from the Chapter communication or material by contacting the Chapter through the Privacy Officer info@ Toronto.pmi.on.ca or by mail.
