Synopsis:
Managing change is tough! In today’s world, the only constant is change. Many organizations are taking charge to develop their change competency, but there are often limited resources with a complicated approach that separates change efforts from organizational change delivery. 

This 1-day intro course explains how to create just the right change ecosystem to ensure change success, and addresses the issue of resistance head on. 

LEARNING OBJECTIVES 

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to: 

• Understand the importance of managing project change 
• Create the right climate for change, build a change team 
• Build a powerful future state vision 
• Identify key drivers & sponsors 
• Identify how different personalities reaction to change 
• Identify & manage resistance, how to respond to the Valley of Despair 

Speaker Bio:
Christopher D'Souza, MBA, PhD, PMP, PMI-RMP, PMI-ACP, Cert.APM, CSM, CAL, CSP 

Christopher D'Souza is a client-oriented, results-driven professional with leadership roles for the past 25+ years in business and information technology in major companies around the world. In the information technology sector, he has worked over the past 17 years using PMLC and SDLC methodologies. He has led successful multi-million dollar projects in the areas of application development and infrastructure enhancements. His roles and responsibilities have included Agile Project Manager, Portfolio Manager and Program Manager. He has also led enterprise delivery teams comprising of business system analysts, developers, quality assurance, solution architects, and information security specialists, which have been co-located as well as geographically dispersed through offshoring arrangements. Christopher has received several accolades from business and IT senior management for the successful delivery of challenged projects. 

D'Souza has been part of agile transformations in major financial institutions for the past 5 years, delegated by management to train, coach, and lead agile teams. He has completed certifications such the PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP), Certified Agile Project Manager (Cert.APM), Certified Scrum Master (CSM,) and Certified Agile Leader (CAL) certifications. D'Souza is also a member of the Scrum Alliance and has been designated a Certified Scrum Professional (CSP). 

A strong advocate of continuing education with an MBA specializing in Project Management and a Doctorate in Organizational Leadership, he has his PMP and PMI-RMP certifications from the Project Management Institute. With his drive for project excellence, significant experience and advanced qualifications, he has excelled in training others in both corporate and academic environments.  (D'Souza is an Adjunct Professor at several Colleges and Universities in Canada and the United States. His primary subjects for training are Project Management, Risk Management, Leadership and Agile (Scrum and Kanban). Christopher has a Certificate in Adult Training and Development from the University of Toronto and participants in his workshops  have referred to him as inspirational, knowledgeable, and thought-provoking. 

Christopher has been an active member of the Project Management Institute (PMI) since 2004. He is the past Director of Communications for the PMI Lakeshore Chapter and has served as a PMI-appointed mentor/coach to PMPs in North America.

Cancellations must be received by 5:00 pm, 5 business days before the event and must be sent in writing by email to events@pmitoronto.ca. There will be a 20% administration fee charged for cancellations, subtracted from the refund. Cancellation/refund requests will not be accepted less than 5 business days before the event. However, substitutions are welcome. Please let us know by 12:00 noon the day before the event of the person you wish to substitute by emailing events@pmitoronto.ca
