Topic: Project Management vs Change Management

A Change Manager is described as one who conceptualises the entire transformation and is responsible for process change as well as people change.

Project management and change management both aim to increase the likelihood that projects or initiatives deliver the intended results and outcomes. Although each discipline can function independently, the most effective approach is to integrate change management and project management to create a unified approach to implementing change on both fronts.

This event will provide project managers, program managers, project office employees and professionals an introduction to change management vs project change management and how to plan for change at an early stage and in a structured manner.

Join PMI Toronto in its 1st partnership with ACMP to dive into the fast emerging field of Change Management and explore these topics and viewpoints: 
- Differences between Change Management and Project Management 
- How does Change Management fit into the Project Management Lifecycle 
- The value proposition of Change Practitioners: a unique set of skills? 
- Professional certifications and the labour market (value of PM and CM certifications) e.g. Prosci, CCMP, etc.

Speaker Bio:
Ernesto Solari is the Managing Director of his own company, Kamaleidos Change Solutions. He holds a PMP as well as a Prosci certified Change Management practitioner among other credentials.

Over the last 20+ years Ernesto has worked in public and private-sector industries in Canada and internationally in different capacities in the HR field, as Change Management Consultant and HR Project Manager in diverse industries such as Manufacturing, IT Consulting, Healthcare, Telecommunications, Transportation and Retail. He is currently working as a Learning & Development Consultant supporting the largest HRIS Workday implementation in Canada and teaches Part Time in the HR Program at McMaster University - Centre for Continuing Education.

Karen Sedore currently the President of the Association of Change Management Professionals Toronto Chapter and an Advisor for Change Management at Region of Peel.Karen is an experienced change management professional, leading and supporting public sector enterprise-wide projects. She has successfully implemented business transformation initiatives focused on maximizing efficiencies while maintaining service levels in a municipal government setting. Karen’s focus on change management has ensured that changes have been implemented well with lasting, positive impact. In addition, Karen acts as a strategic advisor to senior management, and trains and coaches executives in leading organizational change.

Karen is a founding member of ACMP and participated in the initial World Cafe exercise and early transition teams to launch ACMP globally in 2009-10.

Karen is a social worker at heart with a diploma from Sheridan College.  In recent years, she has turned her attention and strong people skills to business transformation efforts in the public sector.  She holds a Project Management Professional (PMP) designation and is certified in the Prosci Methodology for change management.  Karen has completed Prosci’s Train the Trainer program.
