About Myself

Pooja – a word that comes from Sanskrit, and means honor and worship. As my name reflects, my professional interest is something I honor and I realized it when my dedication to this field went par my expectations. With a background in Architecture and experience in handling various residential, commercial, landscape and urban design projects,  I chose the construction industry for the diversity it offers. From administrative roles to management positions - the opportunities are endless, and this thrived me to be indulged in this learning process.

My background and interest in architecture helped me explore the design perspective of construction, and my post-graduation is helping me understand the managerial aspects of the industry.

Current Occupation

I am currently pursuing Post-Graduation in Construction Project Management, with a focus on the managerial aspects of the construction industry. I am always a step forward in exploring new opportunities, and presently I am looking forward to working in this field as a professional.

Experience and Education

Since childhood, I have always been keen to learn about the process of planning, designing, and construction of structures I see around myself.  My curiosity only increased with time, and my passion for the subject grew more robust, which ultimately enthralled me to take up Architecture. I have done my Bachelor’s in Architecture from India. In the 2year of professional practice post-Bachelors, I acknowledged that architecture deals with the aesthetics and functions of a building that involves factors such as sociology and psychology. My academic and professional exposure has so far helped me amalgamate my base for designing, and I now wish to become an expert in Construction Project Management. My Post Graduate program helps me to equip myself with the knowledge of International Construction issues and understanding of the professional practice, ethics, and procedures

Why did I join PMI Toronto Chapter

I am passionate about management, which I only discovered when taking a course on the topic. As an aspiring personnel, I wanted to get to know more people in the field. Every event I attended helped me gain industry exposure. It is an excellent opportunity for me to interact with industry experts and academics. Being a volunteer for PMI, I was able to help out students like myself, and I feel great to know that I’m doing my part to give back to the community.  PMI has been an integral part of my learning, and I love getting to speak to so many brilliant minds and attending exciting events!
