Paddle for PMI TORONTO

Are you interested in paddling in a group of 20, getting fit, having fun, and raising PMI TORONTO spirit? To kick-off PMI TORONTO’s third dragon boat season, we are inviting members to paddle with team Project Dragon in 2017 and participate in the GWN Dragon Boat Challenge on Saturday September 9 and Sunday September 10th at Marilyn Bell Park.

Launched in 2015 as part of PMI TORONTO’s 40th Anniversary celebrations, the dragon boat team has been influential in raising PMI TORONTO’s profile and uniting members. Have a look at the 2016 team video and photos.

We are forming a team of 20 athletic men and women of all experience levels, and one loud drummer. First time paddlers are welcome! The fee to participate is $75.00 + HST.

Team Training and Race Schedule:

As a paddler, you must be available for three 2-hour training sessions at the Mississauga Canoe Club and the 2-day race festival held on September 9th and 10th at Marylin Bell Park.

Practice #1: Saturday, August 12th, 9 - 11 am
Practice #2: Saturday, August 19th, 9 - 11 am
Practice #3: Saturday, August 26th, 9 - 11 am

Can't join as paddler? Come relax in the park and watch PMI TORONTO Project Dragon race to the finish line!

It is a great opportunity to network among Chapter members, raise PMI TORONTO spirit by cheering for our team from the shoreline as they race against other teams, all while spending a fun, casual and hopefully a sun filled day with family and friends.

Attending the race festival is FREE. Please register and select the spectator option.

Donate in support of PMI TORONTO’s dragon boat team!

Team Project Dragon is looking for financial support from the project management community to make this a successful event. Donations will supplement the cost of training and festival entry fees, team jerseys and event logistics.

Two ways to donate:

1. Show your PMI TORONTO pride wherever you go by wearing team Project Dragon’s team jersey! View and purchase T-shirt(s) - Closed
2. Make a financial contribution through PMI TORONTO - Make a financial contribution through PMI TORONTO

Photography & Filming: Photographs, audio, and video are sometimes captured during PMI TORONTO events. By registering, attendees hereby grant PMI TORONTO and its representatives permission to photograph and/or record them at events, and distribute (both now and in the future) the attendee's image or voice in photographs, videotapes, electronic reproductions, and audiotapes of such events and activities.
