The PMI Toronto Nominating Committee is currently engaged in gathering names of potential candidates. Directors are elected for a 2-year term, by our Chapter membership, as governed under the PMI Toronto By-laws.

In 2018, there are six open Directors positions.

Commitment
PMI Toronto Directors are asked to make the following commitments:

·  Attend a Board meeting on 2nd Tuesday of each month

·  Attend a minimum of 1 additional committee meeting per month

·  Attend most of the Chapter's bi-monthly evening events, held on last Thursday of the month; and/or

·  Attend evening Branch/Community meetings (i.e. Business Analysis, Construction, Government, Greater Toronto Information Systems, Healthcare, Marketing Services, PMO)

·  Be responsible for one Board portfolio position (i.e. Branches & Communities, Media & Marketing, Member Services, Outreach, Professional Development, Technology, Volunteer Services) and manage a team of volunteers

This estimated time commitment for these efforts is at 20-30 hours per month.

Our Directors are volunteers and receive no paid compensation or reimbursement of out-of-pocket expenses for attendance at local board or committee meetings. However, from time-to-time a discount may be provided to board members for certain courses, etc.

In addition, all Board members may be expected to attend the PMI Leadership Meeting, typically held in the fall of each year in a North American city, or the Regional R3 Summit. With travel, expect this meeting to take up three to four days (i.e. Thursday to Sunday). Attendance at these meetings are at the Chapter's expense.

Eligibility
To be a candidate for election as a Director, you must have been a Chapter Member for at least 1 year (since March 1, 2017) and hold a PMP designation. In addition, experience gained from participation for at least 1 year as a volunteer with PMI (GOC or another chapter) is required.

Nominations will close at the Toronto Chapter Office at 5:00 p.m. Friday March 23, 2018.
