Welcome to a new fiscal year! With summer coming to an end, PMI Toronto is excited to begin a new season of learning, networking and events.

I am honoured to be in a position to serve the PMI Toronto community alongside the incredible individuals on our Board of Directors. We are committed to delivering the highest standard of content, programs, and experience to our membership and volunteers.

PMI Toronto kicked-off the 2022-2023 fiscal year in July. Our focus has been on annual planning and aligning with PMI Impact Growth Strategy and the PMI Strategic Plan. The newly-elected Board of Directors held an intensive two-day strategic planning session in June. An outcome from this session was that each board member would begin building their volunteer teams to support PMI Toronto programs for members.

We have taken your feedback into consideration from the membership survey. The membership survey results  and board’s planning session have led to three strategic objectives, which are:

  • Member value and retention
    • All Chapter core programs must be of value and benefit our members.
  • Cohesive programming and communication strategy
    • Focus on key high quality events, experiences and content as opposed to quantity
  • Reduce complexity
    • Streamline Chapter processes, deliverables, and operations across all programs to maximize the membership experience

The goal of these three objectives is to focus member and volunteer efforts on key activities that matter and provide the most value to you. This year is about simplifying; which may result in the retirement of lesser used programs. As always, we welcome your feedback.

You’re encouraged to visit our Chapter website to learn more about our Board of Directors. We are working on ways to get back to in-person events this year, whenever possible. Keep an eye on our calendar of events for opportunities to learn and interact with your fellow PMI Toronto members. A great way to stay up-to-date, is to sync PMI Toronto events to your calendar—desktop or mobile. This way you’ll have easy access to all our events directly at your fingertips.

I would like to extend a special thank you to all our volunteers who contributed their time and expertise in making our last fiscal year a success. We thank all volunteers for their service and contributions. Each year, 100+ volunteers dedicate their time and skills and give back to the PMI Toronto Chapter and profession.

We have an exciting year ahead and I hope you get involved.PMI Toronto exists because of and for its members; we’re always open to feedback and connecting with our membership. Feel free to reach out anytime at info@pmitoronto.ca and one of our dedicated team members will get back to you.

Sincerely,

Michael Becker, PMP
