About the Program
What is the Monthly Introductions program?
Monthly Introductions is a feature on the PMI Toronto Networking Platform that automatically connects you with one fellow PMI Toronto member per month. The goal is a short, focused networking conversation, typically around 30 minutes, to exchange professional insights and expand your network with other PMI Toronto chapter members.
Is this different from the Mentorship Program?
Yes. The Mentorship Program pairs a Mentor and Mentee for a structured, six-month development experience focused on career guidance and professional growth. Monthly Introductions are lighter in commitment, with one new connection per month, no long-term pairing required. Both programs live on the same platform and are available to eligible members. Learn more about the
Mentorship Program.
Is there a cost to participate?
No. Monthly Introductions is offered as a complimentary benefit of your PMI Toronto Chapter membership.
Who is eligible?
All active PMI Toronto Chapter members are eligible. New members must wait 45 days from their join or renewal date before accessing platform programs. Members whose membership has expired are removed from the platform monthly.
Participation and Opt-In
How do I opt in?
Participation is not automatic, you need to activate your account and enable introductions:
2. Navigate to the Introductions section
3. Select Unpause Introductions
Am I automatically enrolled?
No. To ensure introductions only go to members who want them, you must actively opt in by unpausing your introductions in the platform.
How do I pause my introductions?
Log in to the [PMI Toronto Networking Platform](https://pmitoronto.tenthousandcoffees.com/), navigate to your ntroductions settings, and select Pause Introductions. You will not receive new introductions while paused.
How do I resume introductions after pausing?
Follow the same steps and select Unpause Introductions. Your introductions will resume with the next monthly cycle.
Can I opt out permanently?
Yes. You can leave the Introductions program at any time by pausing your introductions indefinitely or by contacting
support@tenthousandcoffees.com to be removed from the program.
How Introductions Work
How are matches made?
The platform uses an algorithm that considers your profile information, professional background, goals, and interests to suggest a compatible connection each month.
How often will I receive an introduction?
Once per month, as long as your introductions are active (unpaused).
What is the expected format of an introduction meeting?
There is no required format. Most members connect via a short video call or phone conversation, typically around 30 minutes. You and your introduction can decide what works best for both of you, including in-person meetings if practical.
What if my match doesn't respond?
Reach out through the platform or by email, and allow reasonable time for a reply before escalating. If you are unable to connect, contact
support@tenthousandcoffees.com for assistance.
Can I be introduced to someone I already know?
The algorithm works to make meaningful new connections, but it is possible in some cases. If you receive an introduction to someone you already know well, you are welcome to reach out and have a conversation regardless or contact support if you have concerns about the match.
PDUs
Can I claim PDUs for my networking conversations?
PDUs are self-reported through PMI's Continuing Certification Requirements System (CCRS). The Chapter does not track attendance or report on your behalf.
Networking conversations may be eligible under the
Education: Informal Learning category, depending on the content of your discussion and your certification requirements. Review PMI's PDU eligibility guidelines or consult
PMI's CCRS to determine what applies to your situation.
The PMI Toronto Chapter does not provide warranties or guarantees regarding PDU eligibility for any program activity.
