Synopsis:

How have healthcare professionals successfully executed projects during the pandemic? Join us for a conversation with healthcare project managers from Women's College Hospital. They will walk us through their experiences in digital care project management. Delve into how they executed numerous projects while dealing with the uncertainty we have seen in the last two years. Learn how they utilized project management methodologies and used collaborative approaches with teams to deliver successful outputs.

  • How projects and rapid implementations were completed successfully within a short timeframe facing limited resources.
  • What project strategies were leveraged to stay the critical path and mitigate risk.
  • How high performing project teams were established and maintained.

The evening will conclude with an open forum discussion and include special guest panelist Brendan Kwolek (Chief Information Office at Halton Healthcare). The discussion will cover the impact of the pandemic on the respective teams, project management methodologies, and delivery across the Digital Care landscape.

Alyssa Furfaro-Argier

Alyssa Furfaro-Argier is a Clinical Project Coordinator on the Epic team at Women’s College Hospital (WCH). Her role during the pandemic has been dedicated to helping with the roll out of Video Visits across the hospital and helping with the transition of in-person workflows to all virtual. Along with supporting this roll-out, Alyssa led operational work through the FAXCOM project as well as the Epic Upgrade. Working with many different stakeholders and departments across WCH she has been able to offer working virtual solutions while still supporting operative tasks for the hospital.

Daryl Manankil

Daryl Manankil is a Project Manager with the Women's Virtual Department who primarily leads projects involving the integration of virtual care tools across Women’s College Hospital. His work relies heavily on supporting clinicians and patients through the use of WCH’s patient portal, myHealthRecord, as a platform to connect patients to the services provided online (Video Visits, Online Scheduling, Secure Messaging). With the ongoing pandemic, Daryl’s work has been vital to transitioning several in-person programs and tools to virtual experiences with the goal of enhancing the patient journey. Previously, Daryl worked with the Clinical Applications team at WCH as a MyChart Analyst, helping to support the myHealthRecord platform.

Dhara Desai

Dhara is a Clinical Applications Manager at Women’s College Hospital, possessing over 10 years of professional experience in Information Technology and clinical admin settings in the healthcare industry. She is also a professor at George Brown College in the Health Informatics Post Graduate Program. Dhara has a keen appreciation for the importance of work integrated learning and the value of bridging theory and practice.
Dhara is a Co-Founder and a Board Member of the Health Informatics Peer Group where mentorship sessions are provided to the students/individuals who are interested in the Health Informatics industry. This not-for-profit organization focuses on providing education and networking opportunities for individuals and students who are looking to kick start their career in the field of health informatics.
Dhara completed her bachelor’s degree in Health Studies (healthcare management & policy) from York University and post-graduation in Health Informatics from George Brown College. She is also certified in ITIL and Epic applications (Cadence, Prelude, Welcome and Security).

Jennifer Pinto

Jennifer completed her bachelor’s degree in Health Science from Western University and a master’s in Health Informatics from the University of Toronto. She has been working in the field of health informatics for the past few years with experience in a variety of healthcare organizations (tech startup, hospitals, consulting firm etc.). Jennifer is currently a Management Consultant specializing in project management and business analysis at Accenture in their Strategy & Consulting division. Previously, she worked at Women’s College Hospital where she led projects including Epic upgrades, Epic module implementations (ORs, surgical clinics, pharmacy etc.), and more.


Jennifer is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP). She also has her Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems with Canadian Regional Endorsement (CPHIMS-CA), Change Management Specialist and Six Sigma Lean Professional designations. Additionally, she is a certified Credentialed Trainer and holds her Epic Ambulatory certification.


Jennifer is also the Co-Founder and Board Member of the Health Informatics Peer Group. This not-for-profit organization focuses on providing education and networking opportunities for individuals and students who are looking to kick start their career in the field of health informatics.
