Overview:

The panel will discuss a number of areas as the relate to business strategy from the perspectives of the PMO, Project Managers and Stakeholders.  The specific questions that we plan to discuss include: 

i. The role of the PMO in developing and delivering strategy 
ii. How a Project Manager can leverage strategy for project success 
iii. How do to talk strategy with stakeholders? 
iv. Q&A

Many of the submitted questions will be addressed by the panel in this facilitated and interactive discussion.
 
Speaker Bio:
David Giles

An executive and consultant who continually improves organizational effectiveness and business results through the identification and implementation of needed changes in strategy, project and service delivery, technology, operations, organization, and process.  He brings 25 years of proven leadership and business results having led the implementation of seven Project Management Offices, engaged project teams of over 200 people, budgets of $60+ million and overseen over 1,000 projects and strategic change initiatives in business and IT, across multiple industries including: financial services, professional services, technology, manufacturing, and retail. He is also a trainer and public speaker and is the current Chair of the PMO Branch of PMI SOC.

Ethienni Martins 
Project/Program Manager with 15+ years of experience in the IT field has worked for big companies such as Cisco, Claro Group, BM&FBovespa and others. 
Extensive experience in and researcher of management frameworks—such PMBok, CMMI, ITIL and others. With years of entrepreneurial experience, has a breadth and depth of knowledge and experience combined with research experience on the field – taught on MBA classes for students of Project Management.  With a Master degree in Computer Engineering and specializations that include courses at the MIT (Software modeling and big data), he has a global perspective and extensive experience, including leading culturally and geographically diverse teams in Brazil, North America and Europe. His passion is to solve business problems by using technology and management. His last works include the creation of PMOs with the integration of tools such as Clarity (CA) and Microsoft EPM. 
Member of the PMI, IEEE (Computer Society) and ACM professional associations. Currently, member of the PMI-SOC in Toronto, Canada

Susan McIsaac 
Susan McIsaac has over a decade of experience managing, overseeing and influencing complex technology and business process enabled Projects and Programs.  She has worked in several different sectors such as Executive Education, Professional Association Management and the Public Sector.  Her passion is to advise, educate and champion how Project, Program and Portfolio Management can transform an organization.  And her purpose is to turn strategy into results that positively impact people, process, data and technology through Project, Program and Portfolio Management.  Susan specializes in Business Transformation Initiatives and Project Management Office setup, implementation and operation.  She is a member of the PMI-SOC, a PMO Branch Committee member and has written several LinkedIn posts on PMO's.

Rodion Rogov 
With close to 10 years of experience in enhancing organizations capacity to deliver value to their customers, Rodion Rogov is able to provide insight on a number of topics ranging from basic process improvements to helping organization restructure in order to meet changing demands. Holding his PMP and CRM designation, Rodion is currently pursuing his Masters in Strategic Planning, as his knowledge centers around creating business strategies and aligning organizational efforts to achieve strategic goals. He brings a unique perspective to each event combining knowledge from his ongoing roles within Operations Management and Project Management communities, with a focus on delivering strategic projects within each environment. In his past experience, he has Directed a PMO, and delivered over 30 programs & projects, resulting in Rodion's ability to effectively and efficiently navigate the organization landscape to deliver necessary changes.

Marie Sterling
Ms.Sterling is a strategist. She has successfully delivered new strategic initiatives and complex projects in the corporate and humanitarian sectors for more than two decades. She is an expert in driving change. Marie has been a speaker for the Project Management Institute Global Congress in several countries. Recently she presented her research on Situational Awareness to the Society for Advancement of Management in Las Vegas. Her career began in the Canadian Armed Forces and today she continues to work with them.

Public Transit and Parking: Very near Eglinton station of TTC’s Yonge line / Ample public parking near Yonge/Eglinton.

Parking: There are plenty of parking options in the neighbourhood. The most convenient parking can be found in the building the meeting will take place in. The parking garage entrance can be found on Berwick Avenue, one block south of Eglinton, on the west side of Yonge. MAP>

Cancellations must be received by 5:00 pm, 5 business days before the event and must be sent in writing by email to events@soc.pmi.on.ca. There will be a 20% administration fee charged for cancellations, subtracted from the refund. Cancellation/refund requests will not be accepted less than 5 business days before the event. However, substitutions are welcome. Please let us know by 12:00 noon the day before the event of the person you wish to substitute by emailing events@soc.pmi.on.ca
