Event Type: GTIS Branch Event Facilitator: Haniel Croitoru Title: PMO365 - The many faces of Project Management in Office 365 Synopsis: Have you ever wondered if you can effectively manage projects without a dedicated PMIS or other tools that will break the bank? Project Management Systems come in many sizes and forms. Most systems have a sophisticated multi-project/program planning component and also let you track, resources, risk and issues, and more. All these bells and whistles often carry a hefty price tag. For enterprises that manage large projects this makes sense. But if you’re a small or medium size business who doesn’t have the need for such complexity in your project tracking, Office 365 is a great. In this session I will be introducing you to Office 365 and the apps that can help you in your day-to-day life as a project lead. I will then take you on a journey where we discover ways and methods to manage tools of various sizes, complexities, and methodologies. By the end of this session you will have an understanding of how Office 365 can best suit your needs. Attendees will leave this session with the following learning: 1. What is Office 365 (overview of the various apps) 2. What tools are suited for project management and why 3. Best tools for various scenarios – simple projects, waterfall, agile, complex Bio: Haniel Croitoru is Lead Consultant at 2toLead, a generous Microsoft consulting company. Event Topic: Lessons learned from the launch of the TreehouseGo App

Synopsis:
Treehouse, a Corus Entertainment company, is Canada’s most trusted pre-school television network since it's first broadcast in 1997.  Treehouse is the destination of choice for the best variety of fun and imaginative programming in a safe and nurturing environment for preschoolers and their parents. Traditionally, Treehouse is watched on the television in the family room,  but Corus Entertainment recognized that parents are introducing tablets and mobile devices to entertain and educate their children in the car, the grocery store or at the cottage.  With this shift, the TreehouseGo app became a key strategic project for Corus Entertainment to continue its tradition of providing parents with a safe and trusted environment.  In this presentation, you will hear about the key lessons learned as Corus worked with multiple vendors to integrate their technologies into a simple, easy to use TreehouseGo app for toddlers and their parents.

Three key takeaways for project managers:

-When you are breaking new ground there are times when you just don’t know what you don’t know!

-Alignment and Dependencies - Two key words for managing multiple vendors and stakeholders

-Risk Management when time is your biggest constraint.
