Back by popular demand! Join us as we take a 360° View of a Career in Business Analysis. This event will provide perspectives from various thought leaders within the profession (recruiters, managers, practitioners, consultants and trainers). We will tackle the questions that have been on your minds by allowing you the opportunity to ask any questions pertaining to a career in Business Analysis!
The format of this event will allow for plenty of Q&A and opportunities to interact with the panelists. Space is limited, so register early to avoid disappointment!
Bio:
John Linney is an experienced Project Manager and Business Analyst, with over 25 years’ practical experience delivering simple solutions to complex requirements, primarily in Information Technology and Financial Services. John has held senior positions in Ernst & Young, CIBC, Midland Walwyn, Merrill Lynch, and is currently the Director of Strategic Operations Initiatives at Tarion Warranty Corporation. John has a B.Math from the University of Waterloo and an MBA from the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto. John brings practical experience, along with a well-rounded understanding of technology and process improvement, to the table.
Andrew Ang currently manages the business analysis team in the project management office at Richardson GMP, one of Canada's leading independent wealth management firms. Andrew has over 20 years of experience delivering IT solutions to small businesses, government agencies, technology companies as well as to the financial services industry. With extensive knowledge in technical analysis, Andrew is capable of delivering end-to-end management of all processes and infrastructure related to the sale, delivery and billing of IT services. As a people manager, Andrew considers himself to be a hands on coach for some and a motivator for others. The combination of Andrew’s analytical skills and management style has brought him success in today's business and technical world, making him a high value asset in today's market.
Yaaqub Mohamed (Yamo) is an industry recognized expert in the field of business analysis, a seasoned practitioner and adept trainer of business analysis. He currently works for the government of Ontario's Ministry of Transportation, as a Project Director and Stakeholder Relationship Manager. He has been a recognized authority in helping with the advancement of the BA community by hosting a world-class podcast for business analysis professionals through The BA Coach. Yamo is also the author of "Five Pillars of a Great BA" and the world's first and only full color and international best seller, “The Ultimate CBAP-CCBA study guide” - currently ranked and rated as the #1 prep guide on Amazon.com.
Jordan Stern is a senior recruiter with over 11 years in the industry. He manages a team of 4-5 recruiters and mentors and trains recruiters across Canada. Jordan grew through the ranks to his current position with Randstad Technologies and specializes in the fulfillment of resourcing requirements for clients in different sectors of the economy (financial institutions, manufacturing and logistics sector, healthcare, telecom, provincial and federal government agencies, as well as systems integrators and many more). Overall, Jordan brings forward recruiting excellence across a wide range of roles both in the application development and infrastructure domains, specializing across the development/infrastructure life-cycles. His expertise spans sourcing for BA’s, BSA’s, PM’s, PCO’s, Developers, Architect, executives in addition to a wide range of other positions/profiles. Jordan brings a well-rounded prospective on what it takes to get a job and how to get there.

Cheryl Lee, PMP, PMI-PBA, CBAP, is the chair of the PMI Southern Ontario Chapter - Business Analysis Community, and co-author of “Effective PM and BA Role Collaboration” (2015), J. Ross. She is also the President of a Toronto-based consulting firm that offers consulting and training services within the realm of business analysis and project management. She is currently a core team contributor to PMI’s Foundational Standard in Business Analysis.

Cancellations must be received by 5:00 pm, 5 business days before the event and must be sent in writing by email to events@soc.pmi.on.ca. There will be a 20% administration fee charged for cancellations, subtracted from the refund. Cancellation/refund requests will not be accepted less than 5 business days before the event. However, substitutions are welcome. Please let us know by 12:00 noon the day before the event of the person you wish to substitute by emailing events@soc.pmi.on.ca.
