Moving Beyond the “Superhero” Project Manager: Leading Digital Health Transformation Through Servant Leadership
Synopsis:
Digital health initiatives represent some of the most complex and high-stakes transformations in modern project delivery. Too often, success is placed on the shoulders of “superhero” project managers, expected to resolve issues, absorb risks, and carry delivery through individual effort. While this approach may offer short-term results, it creates long-term fragility, burnout, and systemic risk.
In this insightful keynote, Dr. Suvidha Sarang challenges the traditional “hero” model and introduces a servant leadership approach tailored for digital health transformation. Drawing from her extensive experience across healthcare systems in Canada and India, Suvidha explores how project leaders can shift from individual problem-solvers to system enablers, building resilient teams, fostering shared ownership, and enabling sustainable delivery.
Through real-world examples and practical strategies, participants will learn how to strengthen governance, enhance cross-functional collaboration, and lead with empathy, trust, and transparency in complex, regulated environments.
Learning Outcomes:
- Reframe the role of the project manager from “heroic problem-solver” to servant leader and system enabler in digital health initiatives.
- Apply practical techniques to build trust, psychological safety, and collaborative problem-solving across clinical and technical teams.
- Identify early warning signs of the “superhero trap” and implement strategies to create resilient, scalable delivery models.
