Event Topic: The New Age of Project Management

Synopsis:
Leaders in Project Management embrace adaptation to thrive with inevitable change. So, with the advent of more automation, robotization, transformation and Artificial Intelligence, we ask ourselves: what can project managers be expected to face, and how will it affect project management practices in the public sector?

Technology and new business processes continue to revitalize the role of the project manager, strengthening project delivery with requirements’ tracking systems, automation and analytical project risk as well as life simulation programs.  As project managers, we should look to realign our strengths and enhance our existing skill set. The question is: what skills and practices should we focus on to compete within an environment that is heavily invested in technology, and to meet business practice change needs? This event is an opportunity to look towards innovation and be a step ahead of the game. Discover the skills, knowledge and strategies project managers should advance to facilitate future survival and growth in light of technological, business and competitive world changes and emerging trends.

Speaker Bio:

Ronald Yoon is a Recruitment Specialist at TD bank group supporting IT and business. 
Ronald has built a range of recruitment skills and experience in multiple recruiting agencies, in the military and in the corporate, specializing in business and technology sectors. Ronald has worked with PMI Toronto's government chapter close to 1.5 years gain knowledge and trends of project management in order to relate to top project leaders in the industry. He is also a Certified Internet Recruiter from AIRS who actively has mentored new immigrants in the IT to successfully help them land on a role in the Canadian market. He is supporting recruitment heavily on PMO, Agile, Big Data, Cloud/devops, AI, Machine learning, regulatory and mobile team at TD Bank group.  

Dan Watt specialties in business and process transformation through the use of technology and process re-engineering. He is an experienced resource is the areas of change management, program and project management as well as all aspects of system development life cycle, vendor selection, negotiation and ongoing relationships. 

Suhail Shergil has experience leading skunkworks and R&D teams with a focus on big data and machine learning. He is active in the local developer community and acts as a technical advisor to startups. Suhail started the Montreal Apache Spark Meetup and founded the Probabilistic Programming and Differential Privacy meetups here in Toronto. In his current role, Suhail leads the Data Science and Model Innovation team at Scotia (within Risk) with a focus to innovate on tools, platforms and technologies used for data science; the mathematical techniques being utilized; and the datasets being used.

Cancellations must be received by 5:00 pm, 5 business days before the event and must be sent in writing by email to events@pmitoronto.ca. There will be a 20% administration fee charged for cancellations, subtracted from the refund. Cancellation/refund requests will not be accepted less than 5 business days before the event.
