PMI TORONTO CHAPTER MEETING - THE AGILE PRODUCT OWNER

Power Skills

Event Type: Chapter Event

Speaker: Dave Todaro

Title: The Agile Product Owner: Unifying the Three Sides of the Talent Triangle

Synopsis:
Scrum, the leading Agile project management methodology, has several roles including the ScrumMaster, the Product Owner, and the Scrum team. Although the ScrumMaster is often compared to a traditional Project Manager role, it’s the Product Owner that combines technical project management, leadership and strategic and business management – the three sides of the Talent Triangle.

In this presentation, Scrum expert Dave Todaro will discuss how the responsibilities of the Product Owner align directly with the talent triangle, including leadership and business skills that support both short-term objectives and long-term business goals for technical projects.

By attending this talk attendees will:

- Get a quick refresher on the Scrum process with a specific focus on the Product Owner role.
- Learn how the Product Owner forms the bridge between business goals and the technical team.
- Understand how to combine leadership, business skills and technical know-how to be a successful Product Owner.
- Strategies to ensure there is a strong connection between the priorities of the business and the work of the technical
team.
- Discover key concepts of why a self-organizing team is the best approach to delivering reliable, predictable business
value.
