Event Type: GTIS Branch Event

Speaker: Neil Price-Jones

Title: What do Project Managers need to know about Quality Assurance to keep their Sanity? - Quality Assurance (QA) is frequently not brought into a project early enough to make a meaningful difference in their area of expertise.  This talk will outline what can be expected from QA and when it is best to involve them.

Synopsis:

Why involve QA?  What value does it bring to the project and how does it help the PM successfully deliver a completed project on time and in budget?

QA is frequently an afterthought and brought in late with the expectation that testing will occur with little or no notification or information.   QA provides much more value than just testing and can remove many of the items like unexpected test cycles; late breaking project interruptions and scope changes that can seriously slow or stop project delivery.

This presentation will cover best QA practices that reduce project disruption.

Learning Objectives:

1. The value of engaging QA in a project.
2. Benefit to the project in terms of ROI and increased satisfaction.
3. Reduce project variability.
