PMO BRANCH - STRATEGY? WHAT STRATEGY?

Ways of Working

Event Type: PMO Branch Event

Topic: Strategy? What Strategy?

Overview:

Having spent my project management career executing strategy and brining change to organizations. I know that every project can make or break an organization, whether crippling it financially or damaging its culture. I have seen it first hand and navigated the waters. What I want to do now is bring this knowledge and lessons learned to you, identifying strategies, habits and personal strengths needed to be successful as a Project Manager in uncertain environments.

The presentation will focus on how to establish a project strategy, to set your teams focus and enable them to deliver results, whether the project is facing failure or on the upswing.

The presentation will take you through technical aspects of building a strategy, and lessons learned in navigating organizations and leading teams. Including habits learned to lead to successful execution.

Learning Objectives:
This presentation is geared towards individuals who want to learn more about the strategic and human side of project execution. There are many great technical project managers, just as there are many great project leaders, but what makes someone truly successful is both.

The learning objective for the session will to:
   • Learn how to build project strategy, utilizing your organizations strategy, even if there is not one identified.
   • Absorb some lessons learned by the speaker in leading project and operational teams through changes and uncertainty.
   • Learn habits that can help you be successful as a project manager.
