The stage gating process sets the criteria for a project to pass through at a number of critical decision points, only allowing projects that meet established criteria to move forward. 
This presentation delivers insight into the practical application and implementation of a formal stage gate process aimed at enhancing the odds of achieving project success:

Bio:

Drew Davison is a former systems development executive, the owner of Davison Consulting and a senior consultant at Mapador Inc. He is the developer of Project Pre-Check, an innovative framework for launching and guiding successful project delivery that focuses on building and leading the stakeholder group, the key project success factor. 

Drew is also the author of two books on the stakeholder management practice. He has spoken and written extensively on managing major business and technology change, including speaking engagements at the Conference Board of Canada’s Change 2013 conference, Project World Toronto and Project Summit - Boston. He has also authored a best practice blog at ProjectsAtWork, now part of ProjectManagement.com. 

Drew currently writes a monthly Project Times blog “From the Sponsor’s Desk” that focuses on lessons learned from real project case studies.
