JOINT EVENT - CAMH'S WINNING FORMULA FOR PMO OF THE YEAR
Title: CAMH's Winning Formula for PMO of the Year
Synopsis:
Described as a PMO that energizes the organization and helps the hospital achieve its clinical and strategic aims.
PMI Toronto Chapter's Healthcare and PMO Branches are honored to have CAMH - the 2017 winner of the PMO of the Year award speak to us on their Formula for PMO Success. The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is Canada’s largest mental health and addiction teaching hospital, proved to be a PMO that added superior value to its organization through its support of successful strategic initiatives and has had a positive and clear impact on business results.
Join us as we explore their journey as a small IT PMO in 2012 to expanding to an EPMO that supports projects across the entire organization from clinical practices to research operations.
Learn about how the CAMH PMO:
- Worked with a limited healthcare budget to grow and develop a truly Enterprise PMO with a birds eye view of the business
- Moved from a traditional gating model to being business enabled
- Increased its Project and Portfolio Management rigor and improved project outcomes and alignment with strategic objectives
- Enabled the delivery of some key and complex clinical initiatives that have helped improve patient safety and operational procedures
- Implemented an enterprise reporting strategy to ensure accuracy in their clinical and financial dashboards and information
- Focused on benefits realization and metrics to emphasize the value of project management to Project Sponsors and Executives
We have invited Carrie Fletcher who is the Senior Director of Health Information Management and Enterprise Project Management Office at CAMH, who was a transformational leader for this change. Carrie attributes their win to their approach which was "very different, truly enterprise, and achieved tremendous results affecting patient lives."
