Power Skills

Overview:
Enterprises lose sight of project value in their initiatives because most of the time project benefits are calculated after the project is closed. While there are a variety of tools and techniques to calculate the benefits of a project through ensuring promised value is delivered; in reality, often the responsibility to calculate the value is being weakened or not focused on by the project team.

Value management, as the name suggest, applies at many levels within the organization, crosses many initiatives, operational or project, and may be embodied in many departments. In addition, roles and responsibilities of the project team should be clearly distinguishing the collaborative team-based decision making approaches and to experience how they can be applied in the context of their own tasks.

During this session, we will discuss the concept of value management as a distinct discipline, the importance of focusing on the long term and short term value and the ideas of many different aspects of value; Portfolio and enterprise wide level focus.

• Learn the appropriate strategies for the Value management 
• Understand collaborative team-based decision making approaches and how they can be applied to Value Management

Speaker Bio:

Christine has over 20 years of experience managing projects and providing assistance on effective utilization of technologies and knowledge assets.

Christine’s experience enables her to utilize the best suitable methodology for each project and to ensure the success of the teams involved. Further, Christine provides ideal solutions to complex business and technical challenges for management on critical issues relating to the implementation of new solutions.

Christine works as a freelance facilitator and instructor and very involved developing certification training material, customized awareness programs and workshops on Project Management, Risk Management, and Problem Solving & Decision Analysis.

Cancellations must be received by 5:00 pm, 5 business days before the event and must be sent in writing by email to events@pmitoronto.ca. There will be a 20% administration fee charged for cancellations, subtracted from the refund. Cancellation/refund requests will not be accepted less than 5 business days before the event. However, substitutions are welcome. Please let us know by 12:00 noon the day before the event of the person you wish to substitute by emailing events@pmitoronto.ca
